Avantor is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, and experienced Payroll Supervisor who is responsible for Oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
This role will be a full-time position based out of our Ebene, Mauritius office. Supervisor will oversee daily operations of the payroll staff to ensure timely payroll processing. Lead projects related to payroll and coordinates project support. Assist in developing payroll and payroll tax strategy and policy.

What we’re looking for
- At least 7+ years of experience in international payroll, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience managing payroll in multiple countries, with a deep understanding of international payroll systems, compliance, and tax regulations.
- Experience with external payroll providers, utilizing Workday payroll integrations (PECI)
- International Payroll Certification (desired)
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Ability to respond to internal requests for support and assistance in a prompt and professional manner and prioritize/ re-prioritize appropriately
- Strong time management, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Lead and supervise an expanding team of payroll professionals, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time across multiple countries.
- Ensure the accurate calculation and processing of salaries, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes in line with local legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of required statutory filings, reports, and tax returns.
- Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders such as HR, HRIS, Comp & Ben, Equity & Finance to ensure any upcoming adjustments and changes are reflected in the relevant payroll in a timely and efficient manner
- Optimize the end to end payroll workflow and look for automation where practicable.
- Approve all payrolls within your remit and ensure that a robust control environment is maintained for all jurisdictions.
- Responsible for internal and external audit queries
- Take proactive steps to mitigate payroll risks and minimize the potential for errors or non-compliance.
- Ensure all documentation is kept up to date
- Work closely with our external payroll provider to ensure the smooth functioning of payroll systems, track KPI’s and hold the payroll vendor accountable in the event deviations are identified during the course of payroll processing
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress on payroll performance goals.
- Manage and develop an expanding payroll team and ensure that the team is up to date on latest developments in the payroll sector across the international countries you serve
- Prepare standardized and ad hoc payroll related reports and analysis as required for senior management.
- Keep up to date on changes to international payroll tax laws, labor legislation, and benefits requirements.
