Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Freight Handler/Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently and safely handling, transporting, and delivering freight to various destinations. Skilled in working set schedules, hours, and under various weather constraints, the Freight Handler/Driver will ensure timely deliveries regardless of environmental challenges. Capable of working well in a team and independently, they will collaborate effectively with colleagues while also demonstrating autonomy when required. Strong attention to detail is essential for ensuring accurate paperwork completion and safe freight handling practices. With excellent time management skills, the Freight Handler/Driver will meet delivery deadlines and optimize route efficiency. Additionally, good verbal and written communication skills are crucial for interactions with customers and team members. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of furnishings and appliances, utilizing AFI/local forms for efficient processing.
  • Operate trucks, vans, forklifts, and other vehicles to transport freight safely to designated locations.
  • Adhere strictly to traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles per established rules and regulations, promptly reporting any issues to the maintenance department, and maintain cleanliness and proper working condition of vehicles.
  • Follow AFI procedures and manufacturer’s instructions for the care of furnishings and appliances, including assisting in minor in-house repairs.
  • Utilize cleaning equipment to sanitize couches, easy chairs, box springs, and mattresses as required.
  • Assist warehouse personnel in pulling or restocking items, staging, loading/unloading FMS truck, and disposing of trash at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain adherence to established safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations to foster a secure working environment.
  • Uphold good housekeeping practices by maintaining cleanliness and safety in assigned work areas, vehicles, break areas, and facilities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards, promoting a culture of safety for oneself and others.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a Turkish citizen.
  • Must have a valid Turkish B & G Class license to operate vehicles and equipment.
  • Current and favorable Turkish security background check.
  • High School graduate (must possess diploma)
  • For Male Candidates, Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation is required.
  • Proven experience as a freight handler/driver or in a similar role.
  • Obtaining and passing a medical physical and certified by Government Hospital is required. 
  • Capable of performing lifting and similar physical tasks required for lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading up to 25kg/55 lbs. (make sure the hospital report includes orthopedical confirmation)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certifications in various fields such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, construction, or any other related discipline.
