Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Payroll Operations Specialistto join us. You will will process daily payroll reconciliations and exceptions – resolving where possible and escalating to payroll subject matter experts when needed, perform the operational payment processes

while supporting operational controls, ensuring agreed service levels are met, taking every opportunity to delight the customer and ensuring the right outcomes is achieved, aligning to CS quality standards, regulatory requirements and L&Gs polices.

What you’ll be doing:

Operational Delivery – Undertaking Payroll operations and all associated activities, acting

immediately on any outstanding information to ensure this is obtained from the relevant parties within agreed timescales and quality standards

Supporting cover of roles during absence, to ensure no impact to service or projects

Regulation – Ensuring all appropriate legislative, regulatory and internal process and procedure knowledge is developed and maintained within the team, identifying, reporting and resolving any breaches and ensuring that the correct checks are undertaken during our processes

Business knowledge – Using your in-depth knowledge of all retirement products and payment services, along with end to end processes, mentoring less experienced team members

Supporting in user testing and monitoring the implementation of changes involving Payroll systems or processes, to help safeguard the continuation of accurate and timely payments and reporting

Project Support – Providing knowledge and support for projects (system, process, regulatory)

Record keeping – accurately recording workflow on the appropriate system maintaining effectiveness and performing quality checking according to the prescribed QA framework for the role ensuring accurate management information

Identifying areas of improvement and working within our processes and

Agile framework to take action to continually enhance the customer journey

Consumer Duty- Ensuring that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day-to-day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensuring that all business processes are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes 

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • Basics of processing payroll and reconciliations 
  • Strong Payroll processes & software 
  • Awareness of Payroll regulatory/risk 
  • Experience in a similar environment working on pension payrolls (10,000+
  • volume) and reconciliations of payrolls on a B2c and B2b basis
  • Analysis and interpretation of financial and technical payroll data for reconciliation
  • and query resolution
  • Initiative – Trouble shooting and issue resolution
  • Planning/Organisation of payroll duties
  • Excel
