Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Finance Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance of our financial processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance and a passion for driving change.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for successfully deploying sustainable standard leadership and lean tools throughout organization including but not limited to; Daily Management, Standard Work, Leadership Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvement, Visual Management and A3 thinking.
- Facilitate Kaizen Events and coach cross functional team members on Kaizen preparation and post-Kaizen action implementation to streamline processes, reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.
- Monitor and report on the progress of improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
- Ensure the Finance function is fully trained and empowered to use lean tools to eliminate waste and streamline internal processes enabling us to deliver exceptional value to all customers.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovative thinking and problem-solving
- Conduct regular assessments and events to identify opportunities for further improvement.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in finance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Highly developed problem solving and project management skill
- Consultative skills
- Ability to deliver training to large groups – experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated facilitation and coaching skills
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Negotiation and selling skills to support change management
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks
- Demonstrated conflict management skills
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 30%
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Lean Certified or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of experience in Continuous Improvement, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role and demonstrated track record of implementation success.
- Excellent analytical, project management and presentation skills
- Experience in Financial Close and other back-office accounting processes preferred
