Areas of responsibility;
- Implementation and follow-up of health & Safety tools;
- Nexans leads the dissemination of occupational health and safety policy at the facility level. Provides managers and employees with the methodology and supports them in their context to formalize Nexans OHS processes. Identifies process risks and provides consistency within and between businesses.
- Designs and updates OHS Procedures and general instructions. Involves relevant departments in the process
- Follows and transmits H&S indicators. Responsible and monitors the accuracy, updating and destruction of outdated documents (manual management, process files, management plan,…) registered to the H&S system.
- Ensures active use of group communication channels and compliance of the facility with group rules.
- Regularly reports to the Plant Manager the results, progress, deterioration and difficulties encountered.
Operational implementation of health & safety policy
- Establishes supervisory and sustainable systems for compliance control.
- Action to achieve performances of H&S targets (Accident frequency rate, Absenteeism…)
- Initiates, monitors and manages plans.
- Follows and coordinates continuous improvement action plans in all matters related to occupational health and safety.
- Leads OHS Working groups and develops problem-solving tools.
- Organizes and manages statutory OHS committee meetings and reports on progress.
- Makes warnings and announcements about all risky situations it detects. Stops work if necessary.
- Attends daily, weekly and monthly meetings for OHS areas.
- Determines the standards of personal protective equipment adapted to the job and supervises its use.
- Participates in projects and new equipment investment meetings, implements (MOC) change management standards. Checks ISG compliance
- Manages the working processes of subcontractors and supervises their compliance with OHS rules.
- Coordinates and performs OHS audits.
- Periodically evaluates OHS risks and creates an action plan for identified risks.
- Applies Safety Tools: Administrative Personnel Occupational safety field inspection (safety Walk), In-scope Personnel occupational safety field inspection (Safety Focus), JSA, Occupational Safety Campaigns etc. ensures the sustainability of applications.
- For ISG nonconformities, 8D ensures the use of Problem solving tools and taking necessary actions that arise during the use of these tools.
- Makes necessary internal and external communication on OHS issues.
- Makes daily/weekly/monthly reports and communication of ISG performance criteria.
- Follows the legal regulation requirements related to the environment and ensures the execution of the process.
- Calculates and reports the consumptions and emissions that affect the carbon footprint within the scope of group targets and performance criteria.
Legal regulations and applicable rules
- Determines and monitors requirements for:
- OHS requirements for factory certification processes (TSE, ISO, BASEC etc.)
- Communication with people and institutions related to occupational health and safety and management of the process
- Follows the legal regulations and provides assurance.
- Follows and manages the acquisition and maintenance of required certificates.
- Follows legal requirements and periodic measurements and ensures that they are repeated regularly (noise level measurement, air quality analysis, all ambient measurements…).
- Monitors the suitability of equipment (fire safety equipment control, crane control, grounding control etc.)
Required skills and qualifications ;
- General Education: 4 to 5 years at University (Preferably engineering)
- Experience: Min. 5 years in similar position
- A or B class OHS expertise certificate
- Fluent writing and speaking in Turkish and English
- Teamwork
