Position Summary:

The 2nd Shift Feed Mill Supervisor will support and serve as a backup to the Feed Mill Manager, ensuring the efficient production and delivery of feed for Tyson-owned turkeys. This role involves overseeing ingredient ordering, inventory management, and employee scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage a team of up to 8 employees
• Monitor and maintain ingredient inventory within set tolerances
• Improve crumble and pellet quality, as well as tons per hour of production
• Implement and oversee ingredient and pellet quality testing
• Enhance load turn times and optimize the use of 30-ton trailers
• Address customer complaints regarding feed quality and deliveries in the absence of the Feed Mill Manager
• Work with the Feed Clerk and Finisher Service team to minimize leftover feed after flocks are marketed.
• Reduce weekend deliveries and communicate mill issues or downtime to the Farms team
• Foster a culture of safety and efficiency throughout operations

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma preferred; additional education, vocational training, or college coursework is preferred.

Experience: 1-3 years of feed mill experience preferred; 5 years of experience in feed mill pellet production is ideal.

Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in computer use is required, along with strong attention to detail.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees a team performing similar and related tasks.

Travel: Requires 1-5 trips per year.

Shift Schedule: 2nd shift – Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM. Must be available for weekends and off-shift hours as needed for training or operational demands.
