Internship with the Administrative/Finance Unit provides valuable insights into humanitarian operations, exposure to international administrative practices, and the opportunity to contribute to impactful global work. Interns will gain hands-on experience in administration, travel coordination, inventory management and logistical support, preparing them for future roles in international organizations.
The intern will support the Administrative/Finance Unit in delivering efficient administrative and logistical services. This role includes assistance to travel team, assisting with administrative tasks, and providing general support for financial operations. The intern will support three offices in Ankara.
Duties and responsibilities:
- The intern will be required to carry out below tasks under the direct supervision of a Senior Administrative Associate.
- Assist in organizing office supplies, maintaining inventory, and updating records.
- Help manage office maintenance schedules and accompany vendors during inspections or repairs.
- Help with organizing and maintaining filing systems for administrative and financial records.
- Collect and deliver mail, pouches, and other communications from and to the post office, government agencies and other institutions.
- Provide general clerical support.
- Assisting with receiving and controlling payment request forms, following-up its approval and signature
- Sending e-mails to the staff members who have communication bills. Following-up the private call list according to the responses from the staff members.
- Help following-up the Expenses table to keep updated the supplier payments.
- Assisting with receiving and controlling the vendor registration form before the system entry process.
Minimum qualifications required:
- In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO; and
- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.
