Job Description

- Define user research scope, objectives, and methods
- Create research plans (time, definition of user groups, methods, activities, data storage)
- Organize and conduct qualitative and/or quantitative research and user tests in various locations (incl. remote)
- Analyze and evaluate research data; synthesize (e.g., create Top Findings, Opportunity Areas, Design Principles)
- Transfer user requirements to products and services and define user requirements for hand-over to designer/developer
- Support in the ideation and prototyping phase with research findings
- Prepare, conduct, and evaluate workshops (e.g., Question Zero, stakeholder mapping, customer journey mapping, requirements collection, ideation)
- Identify problem areas through key performance indicators and propose changes and improvements to the service experience
- Collaborate closely with different disciplines (e.g., interaction designers, software developers, product managers) and domain experts (e.g., manufacturing, legal, automotive) in an international context
- Contribute to strengthen the design thinking culture within the Bosch IT environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Cultural anthropology, Service Design or a comparable field of study, ideally with empirical user research and service design as the main focus.
- Languages: High level English language proficiency required; proficiency in German
- At least 3+ years of working experience in IT development products or Services design in research institute or UX department of a company.
- Deep understanding of user research methods & tools and qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
- Ability to transfer user requirements to products and services and define user requirements for hand-over to designer and developer.
- Proficiency in a variety of user research and testing methods, as well as conducting workshops.
- Qualitative data analysis & convert insights into consumable format (requirements, user stories, use cases etc. for further developments)
- Analytical and conceptual skills, including critical thinking and insights into solution directions
- Deep understanding of building service experience
- Very good critical thinking skills (ask what does/does not make sense)
- Ability to listen, observe/investigate (incl. “reading between the lines” the unspoken feelings/emotions of users), prioritize insights, drive the research activity independently, handle findings objectively (being unbiased), quickly deep dive in topics where you are not an expert incl. secondary research/self-immersion
- Ability to make use of available (software) tools for remote research activities/workshops and select appropriate methods and techniques depending on specific cases
+Plus points:
- Basic knowledge of SAP technology, understanding SAP processes and flow charts, and/or experience in collaboration with SAP developers
