Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we engage our Contractors and Freelancers all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor or Freelancer at Canva you can work remotely in the country listed on this job ad, meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you, works for us. Please note, this is a 6-month contract role.

What you’d be doing in this role

As a Copywriter, you’ll craft clear, compelling, and locally relevant content for performance marketing campaigns, Meta ad creatives, high-impact partnerships and campaigns, and evergreen initiatives. Your role will require fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia to ensure a seamless flow of messaging between markets. Collaborating closely with designers and marketers, you’ll help shape Canva’s voice in SEA and bring creative ideas to life.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Writing engaging copy for marketing materials across campaigns in performance marketing, strategic partnerships, brand, events, social media, community, and other channels.
  • Localizing Canva’s global messaging to make it relatable for Indonesian and Filipino audiences.
  • Developing creative concepts for Truly Local campaigns and evergreen content.
  • Collaborating with designers to align visuals and copy seamlessly.
  • Supporting content creation for events, tutorials, and product launches that resonate with local markets.
  • Tracking deliverables and ensure consistency in Canva’s tone and voice across platforms.

  • You are highly skilled with industry-standard tools and processes. Whether using Google Docs, WordPress, Mailchimp, and Canva, you approach each project with confidence, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • You possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. In a dynamic environment, you manage your time adeptly, consistently providing top-quality work even under tight deadlines.
  • You have experience working on brand and performance campaigns for direct-to-consumer tech brands at scale, delivering high volume and global production efforts

Marketing’s mission at Canva is for Canva to become “the most loved brand in the world”. Canva’s International Marketing Group is a diverse and distributed group of marketers who take this mission forward to drive user growth, brand awareness, and affinity in our priority international markets.

As part of the International Marketing Group, our SEA Marketing team drives Canva’s growth by blending global strategies with hyperlocal insights. We aim to create meaningful connections with users in the Philippines and Indonesia through regional campaigns, localized moments, and evergreen creative initiatives across a variety of functions – performance marketing, brand, events, partnerships, social, community engagement and other growth channels.
