The Team

  • Reporting to Data Engineering Manager.
  • Peers: Senior Data Modeller; Staff, Senior, and Mid-level Data Engineers.
  • Key internal stakeholders include: AI Platform Services teams (Search/Recommendation/others), Product Analytics, Experimentation, Data Acquisition and Governance teams, Marketing teams.
  • External stakeholders: SEEK group companies, vendors.

Job Description

The Role

You will be a vital part of the AI & Analytics Data Products team, who provide trustworthy and insightful data assets for SEEK teams across APAC, so that they can make informed decisions and deliver customer experiences using data.

You’ll be responsible for designing data assets and ensuring they meet the needs of our customers and the business. In particular, these data assets help data scientists and executives understand and improve performance of SEEK’s key business products, which are Job Search and Recommendation, as well as Candidate & Hirer Engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with data users (Data Scientists, Data Analysts, BI, Product Managers) across the business to understand their data needs.
  • Design data assets such as datamarts, data warehouse, and feeds to other teams and services.
  • Identify, explore, analyse and document source data and systems.
  • Work with teams who provide data to specify what is to be collected and ensure quality is fit for purpose.
  • Specify ETL source->target mappings, transformations, reconciliation & validation rules.
  • Work with Data Engineers to implement data assets, QA the results, and facilitate acceptance testing.
  • Forensic investigation and analysis of data quality, and facilitate resolution of issues with data providers.
  • Documentation, training and support for users.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Understanding needs of customers, capturing requirements, planning and designing solutions.
  • Good stakeholder management and effective communication.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence, data management, data quality, and ETL.
  • Experience supporting BI, analytics and data science.
  • Data/Dimensional modelling with an eye to usability and performance.
  • Expertise in SQL and data analysis.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of behavioural and tracking data.
  • Understanding of web and mobile app development.
  • Experience with agile delivery as part of a small, cross-functional team.
  • Experience both with big data systems and with relational database.
