RRD has an amazing opportunity for a Director of Business Development in our Supply Chain Solutions Division!
This position can be 100% remote.
Job Summary:
Identify, develop, and help sell Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) opportunities by working on top-down consultative sales initiatives in key target accounts and verticals.
The primary purpose of this role is to convert prospects to sales wins through the development and delivery of compelling leading, edge supply chain solutions within consumer electronic, consumer goods and life sciences markets which will enable RRD SCS to achieve growth and profit targets and create long term client value.
The successful candidate will work with the solutions team, site teams and legal department in determining optimum solutions for the client. The successful candidate will need to be able to develop and grow a relationship with the target at a senior decision making level.
Responsibilities:
- An effective member of the RRD SCS business development team with an ability to convert prospects to results through interaction and teamwork with our operations, supply chain, IT, finance and legal functions
- Sell both national and global solutions to clients
- Work with sales enablement team to identify sectors/segments and prospects to achieve growth
- Build a solutions/consultative selling approach specific to the client
- Work with solutions and site teams to develop a value proposition for the client
- Construct complex bids and proposals in conjunction with the client and SCS internal teams
- Work with the client to make sure that RRD SCS meets and exceeds their requirements
- Understand and articulate competitive advantage and value proposition
- Understand and articulate the broader RRD capabilities
- Accurately report business development activities in a timely manner
- Manage relationships with clients and prospects that drive new revenue growth and a positive
- Support responses to RFQs and RFPs. Identify solutions in which RRD can deliver value beyond the scope of the RFQ
- Produce and coordinate client and site presentations with the ability to present detailed supply chain solutions to customers and prospects
- Contract negotiation
- Project hand-off to operations/client management teams
- Participate in continuing education and stay up-to-date of developments in the targeted verticals
- Attendance and support of forums and sector trade events, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field OR equivalent number of years experience in a sales or business development role.
- Experience prospecting new business, as well as maintaining account relationship for existing business
- Strong strategic planning skills
- Experience with deal-financials and positioning ourselves to help Client business problems, vs. transactional selling (senior level decision makers).
- Experience w/ contract negotiations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient w/ salesforce.com
Additional Information
This is a salary plus commissions role. The salary range for this role at the time of
hire is $94,400 to $190,600 / year plus commissions. The pay range may be slightly lower
or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee and the salary may change or decrease over time. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and geographic location.
