Job Description

As an Engineering Manager within our Product Foundation Tribe at Scalable Capital, you’ll be pivotal in leading a team of talented engineers. Your role involves more than just managing a team; it is about inspiring and guiding them to build a secure, compliant, and efficient foundation for our products. Your leadership will directly influence our foundational components, from user authentication to client onboarding and internal back office systems.

Your role will require a balance of technical understanding, strategic thinking, and effective communication, as you’ll be navigating the complexities of a growing organization and fostering a culture of innovation.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, driving technical and operational excellence.

• Ensure alignment with the Product Foundation Tribe’s goals (OKRs), optimizing processes to manage and serve our ever-growing user base.
• Collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders, contributing to the strategic direction of our engineering efforts.
• Champion diversity, lifelong learning, and a collaborative spirit within your team.
• Be part of the recruitment process to attract your potential new colleagues or team members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a backend developer, preferrably for cloud infrastructures / event-based asynchronous architectures.
• Leadership experience in an engineering management role, preferably in a fintech or fast-paced tech environment, is beneficial.
• Strong technical background with an understanding of software development processes and challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and innovative work environment.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to align team goals with business objectives.
• Experience in process optimization and a track record of implementing best practices in software development.
