Full Stack Software Developer (Java, Angular) – Hybrid

With trends like decentralization, renewables and e-cars, this data is increasingly complex to manage and exchange.

You will develop software solutions for our next generation Grid Management Software.

Join our amazing teams located in Ankara in collaboration with international team setup located in Europe and North America.

You can prefer to work in partially remote model (hybrid).

We are seeking for numbers of software development engineers to develop Grid Management Software applications for shaping future of power grids.

What part will you play?

  • Working closely within international software development teams across global locations to research, analyze, design, develop, test, maintain and support web-based commercial application software for electrical power system modeling and analysis,
  • Presenting creative behavior to develop applications and to select appropriate technical options,
  • Coaching, influencing software development team members to improve their skills and cross-functionality,
  • Demonstrate responsible behavior and share the outcome of the sprint for both success and failure situations,
  • Optimizing application development by employing design patterns, good practices and by reusing proved solutions,
  • Analyzing and identifying problems within the software and designing improvements by considering solution alternatives such as repair, replace and refactor,
  • Participating and supporting all software related activities (e.g. reviews, unit tests, and process improvements),
  • Participating and proactively contributing to an agile environment according to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) process,
  • Taking ownerships in Siemens wide organizational roles to support working as One Global Team

What you need to make real what matters.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or similar fields),
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in complex software development projects,
  • Strong hands-on experience in object-oriented concepts, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and software development principles,
  • Experience in highly available, distributed, and real-time processing software designs,
  • Proficiency in software application development with web-based development technologies (e.g. Java, Spring Framework, Angular, or similar),
  • Proficiency in software application development in microservices architecture and related design patterns,
  • Ownership of software processes (e.g. backlog management, documentation, quality aspects) in a team of engineers from different domains,
  • Experience in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts and tools (e.g. GitLab CI, Argo CD)
  • Experience in unit testing and other test types as well as enthusiasm for automated testing,
  • Experience in Event Driven Development,
  • Experience in working with message brokers, such as Apache Kafka,
  • Proficiency understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT,
  • Understanding of clean and well documented code,
  • Experience in designing, testing, developing, and monitoring software applications for web-based platforms

Preferable Additional skills/experiences (i.e. is a plus):

  • Experience in different types of databases,
  • Experience in Software life cycle and agile methodologies (especially SAFe framework),
  • Understanding of security concepts regarding web-based development,
  • Experience in working with large volumes of time series data and building services, APIs and applications based of it,
  • Experience in streaming data applications,
  • Experience in utilizing map-based web applications,
  • Experience in common identity service and integration.

  • An ability to understand and explain abstract concepts in a clear way to technical and non-technical audiences

What else do I need to know?

  • Fluent command of English is a must
  • No restrictions for travelling abroad temporarily.
