Global Network Banking (GNB) serves a select number of the world’s largest and most prominent multi-national corporations that demand the highest standards and world class / quality coverage. Global Network Banking (GNB) Head is a senior management-level position responsible for accomplishing results through the leadership of a team of Relationship Managers and Associates to manage and acquire all local GNB relevant clients and elevate the presence of Citi and GNB within the country. Being the key member of a unique global relationship network that is widely regarded by global players as being best-in-class in terms of client coverage and delivery of banking solutions in over 100 countries, the overall objective of this role is to understand and manage effectively Citi’s capabilities to increase and maximize the share of wallet and market share.

As the GNB Country Head for Turkey, you will be responsible for the strategic direction of the GNB business, encompassing people management, strategic client management, liaison with other areas of the bank to ensure superior customer service and solution development and implementation, and ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, compliance, risk and other policy standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assuming roles & responsibilities as Senior Manager as per Turkey Policy of Assistant General Manager responsible for Global Network Banking (subject to regulatory approvals) which is regulated by Turkish Banking Law and adjacent regulations. The role is a trusted partner within the local management team and supports General Manager of Citi Türkiye (Chief Country Officer – CCO). From a reporting line perspective, the role will be directly reporting to Assistant General Manager responsible from Corporate Banking in Türkiye and matrix report to the GNB Middle East and Africa Head.
  • Executive presence at ALCO, BRCC and country senior management committees
  • Manage a sizeable client portfolio comprised of the local subsidiaries of global corporations that demands a range of Citi product solutions. Orchestrate the local delivery and execution of the Bank’s broad spectrum of products and services
  • Formulating and executing coverage strategy, account planning, calling strategy and coverage segmentation for names managed by GNB Turkey to ensure maximum deal origination is taking place across the entire client base.
  • Understand regional and emerging market trends to identify growth opportunities, anticipate challenges and communicate a forward-looking vision that is responsive to changes in the environment
  • Lead a diverse team of Relationship Managers and Relationship Associates. Ensure that GNB team builds strong relationships at all critical levels (e.g. Treasurer, CFO, CEO) with client portfolios
  • Manage the delivery of the network by providing a consistent coverage approach to these global clients by working closely with Global Banking parent coverage partners, provide ‘network’ forums to facilitate communication.
  • Work closely with internal partners to develop innovative solutions to meet specific client needs
  • Understand the dynamics of the local financial markets, banking industry, Citi’s policy and procedures and regulatory environment and formulate strategic responses to prevailing conditions
  • Be aware of competitive landscape and be able to provide critical input to win transactions
  • Analyze performance results – interpret and adapt strategy to optimize services and financial performance
  • Achieving trusted advisor status through developing close working relationships with customers. Manage client’s expectations and effectively engage in difficult discussions with clients
  • Increase market share and share of wallet for the portfolio
  • Ensure Compliance and KYC policies are adhered to for customer base. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in people management
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Both written and spoken Turkish proficiency is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and external client time
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements (global and local)
  • Demonstrated intellectual grasp of the industry and ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes and translate vision into executable plans
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s/MBA degree preferred from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program
