Responsibilities
- Establish and manage a proactive EHS culture
- Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance
- Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with plant leadership to drive continuous EHS improvement across the plant
- Be a subject matter expert in safety and environmental regulations as well as have GEHSMS compliance experience
- Be highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained EHS performance improvements
- Ensure compliance with GEHSMS policies, procedures and local regulations
- Manage local EHS budget
- Lead the development and implementation of the EHS Annual Operating Plans and EHS Action Plans for the plant
- Develop, implement, execute and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, environmental incidents
- Conduct EHS activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and GEHSMS standards
- Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures
- Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use
- Complete root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of GEHSMS cause analysis techniques
- Be a key contact for global online data tracking and reporting system (myEHS), enter related data into the system and monitor sectoral KPIs from the system
- Lead Multi-Site Certification (MSC) GEHSMS audits and regulatory audits
- Provide technical and process knowledge for wastewater treatment and waste management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmetal Engineering.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and presence in meetings and training environments
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
- HSE management experience in FMCG manufacturing environment
- At least C Class Safety Specialist Certificate (B Class is preferred)
- Environment Officer Certificate from Ministry of Environment is an asset
