Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance
Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with plant leadership to drive continuous EHS improvement across the plant
Be a subject matter expert in safety and environmental regulations as well as have GEHSMS compliance experience
Be highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained EHS performance improvements
Ensure compliance with GEHSMS policies, procedures and local regulations
Manage local EHS budget
Lead the development and implementation of the EHS Annual Operating Plans and EHS Action Plans for the plant
Develop, implement, execute and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, environmental incidents
Conduct EHS activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and GEHSMS standards
Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures
Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use
Complete root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of GEHSMS cause analysis techniques
Be a key contact for global online data tracking and reporting system (myEHS), enter related data into the system and monitor sectoral KPIs from the system
Lead Multi-Site Certification (MSC) GEHSMS audits and regulatory audits
Provide technical and process knowledge for wastewater treatment and waste management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmetal Engineering.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills and presence in meetings and training environments
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
HSE management experience in FMCG manufacturing environment
At least C Class Safety Specialist Certificate (B Class is preferred)
Environment Officer Certificate from Ministry of Environment is an asset
