Jennie-O Turkey Store – Employee Liaison (Somali) – Human Resources 1st shift – Faribault MN

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate employee acclimation to community resources and Jennie-O Turkey Store.
• Aid in employee assimilation to the local geography and workplace environment to foster retention.
• Assist in pre-employment tasks such as interviews, scheduling, and health service coordination, as well as orientation.
• Ensure comprehension of policies, procedures, benefits, and company resources among non-English speaking team members.
• Proactively gather information to address employee needs effectively.
• Provide translation services (both verbal and written) as required. Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
• Data Entry; OMT system

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, including leadership qualities.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
• Fluency in both spoken and written Somali and English, handling sensitive information with discretion.
• Willingness to embrace change.
• Basic proficiency in computer usage and Microsoft Office programs.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn about plant operations, including basic processing and boning.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid MN Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Thorough understanding of Jennie-O Turkey Store policies and procedures.
• Comfortable addressing both large groups and individuals.
• Knowledgeable about Rice County resources such as banks, hospitals, schools, and housing opportunities.

Work Schedule:

Normal shift hours: 8 am to 5 pm (1st shift)

Pay Rate:

Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
