Jennie-O Turkey Store – Insemination Operator – Barron, WI

Job Responsibilities

1. Perform daily breeder flock service activities associated with handling select healthy breeder hens and toms, and department equipment as outlined and described in the department operating manuals
2. Help other coworkers in areas of cost control, productivity, and safety by providing personal involvement in insemination area management, operating decisions and problem solving
3. Work Monday – Friday with some weekends

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• 6th grade math level in addition and subtraction
• Cannot own or raise any type of fowl
• Able to communicate with all Team Members
• PHYSICAL: Able to wear eye and respiratory equipment on a continuous basis in compliance of hygiene policies
• Able to walk on uneven surfaces
• Repeatedly grasp and pinch with both hands
• Able to work in a smoke free environment
• Able to flex and extend wrist occasionally
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, lift, carry and reach while handling live turkeys below your shoulders to frequently above shoulder height, this could be up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years’ experience working with livestock
• Possess a valid driver’s license

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hiring pay range for this role is $24.50 per hour.
