Job Description Summary:

Aviagen is hiring highly professional and qualified person for Health Lab Manager Position. The Health Laboratory Manager shall be directly responsible to the Production and Site Service Manager for the operation of the R/D Laboratory.

Job Description:

Shall be responsible for the daily operation of the laboratory and the supervision of the laboratory staff and the production of accurate and reliable test results Shall assist in those phases of budget planning and administration as directed by the Production and Site Service Manager Shall be responsible for conducting the established health monitoring programs for R/D and the timely reporting of test results Shall be responsible for the quality control HACCP position and programs that support R/D hatchery and farms Shall plan and conduct, in cooperation with the Production and Site Service Manager Research projects pertaining to avian pathogens of present or potential importance in the field of poultry health Shall supervise and evaluate the performance of exempt and non-exempt personnel reporting to this position and recommend wage increases, retraining programs, dismissals to the Production and Site Service Manager Shall be responsible for the hiring and training of new laboratory personnel Shall evaluate new laboratory testing procedures for the diagnosis of avian diseases Shall establish and maintain close liaison with appropriate researchers and diagnostic laboratories Shall maintain contact with State Regulatory personnel and compliance with all applicable regulations Carry out any special assignment by the Production and Site Service Manager Keep informed of latest theories, practices and techniques in the poultry field Job Qualifications: Must have B.S. degree in a biological science 3-5 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment Experience in microbiology preferred Knowledge of Word and Excel computer programs helpful Must be able to communicate effectively Ability to work in Cross cultural environment Ability to work with no supervision Team oriented Detail oriented Able to multi task Should be able to work in a fast paced environment We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
