The Opportunity:

As the Commercial Director TMEA based out of Istanbul, Turkey you will be a member of the T-MEA Leadership Team responsible for leading the Commercial Excellence team, attracting, and developing talent, managing performance, co-creating and implementing capability plans to grow individuals into high-performing teams and sustain business performance through short and mid-term succession planning.

Reporting directly into the Head, Commercial TMEA you will be responsible to co-develop the strategic approach for the products portfolio, challenging, implementing and monitoring Commercial plans, and inputting into the Therapeutic Area Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop/maintain stakeholder and customer relationships, to drive innovation in the customer and patient offer.
  • Ensure the Field-force resource/framework is fit for purpose, monitoring and identifying requirements, taking action to reallocate resources as required.
  • Drive the quality of the TMEA marketing plan, and work collaboratively with the TMEA market access and brand teams to achieve the successful launch of new products
  • Partner with the Affiliate teams and operational Excellence to lead on the standardization, harmonization, and implementation of capability, processes, technology, and platforms across TMEA to ensure optimal customer excellence and operational effectiveness support for Field force development and performance.
  • Work with the Digital team to establish and launch the digital customer offer
  • Deliver consistency and quality in brand plans and marketing execution through the application of TMEA Marketing tools with local marketing capability
  • Oversee, align, and allocate different channels (including Field force) across Therapeutic Areas and brands to ensure optimal customer experience and maximize the use of capacity/channels.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Substantial international experience in a commercial leadership role in the Pharma sector with strong patient/customer focus, in a multi-disciplinary, matrix, and global context.
  • Significant experience in implementing commercial strategy, managing €multi-million budgets, and achieving exceptional results in product launches, revenue, and market share growth.
  • People management experience, achieving high-performance standards by growing successful, diverse teams.
  • Proven track record of leading and embedding major cultural & organizational change initiatives, including Healthcare Compliance across geography, using cross-cultural perspectives when addressing challenging situations.
  • Strong level of proficiency in professional English.

Preferred Experience:

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Impactful, credible senior stakeholder internally and externally, able to deliver results through influence and persuasion.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commercial, business, life sciences, or equivalent.
  • MBA and/or MSc is highly desirable.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • The position is based at the T-MEA regional headquarters of Astellas Pharma in Istanbul.
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 3 days per week in our Istanbul office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
