The Opportunity:

As Communications Lead Turkey-MEA (T-MEA), you will part of the T-MEA Commercial Leadership Team, providing strategic counsel to senior leaders in the area and hub on internal and external communication strategies that drive the business and support commercial priorities. This includes employee engagement, change management, executive visibility and Therapeutic Area/Brand Communications.

In this position, you will support the Head of T-MEA Commercial and the cross functional leadership team to drive strategic alignment, engagement and foster culture/behaviours to maximise area performance against a backdrop of ongoing change.

Key Activities:

  • Work closely with the Head, Communications, International Markets Commercial, ensuring pull through of harmonized global communication strategies in the T-MEA Area and Hub Commercial organization, including executive visibility, employee engagement, issues management, digital communications, operations and measurement.
  • As member of Brand Teams, you will be responsible for shaping and ensuring pull-through of global Therapeutic Area/Brand communication strategies and plans as determined by market commercial priorities in the T-MEA Area.
  • Facilitate International Markets, T-MEA, and local communications alignment to drive efficiencies by sharing resources.
  • Adapt & implement insight-led global brand and disease awareness communications strategies and plans for priority brands in T-MEA, working with the Head, Communications, International Markets Commercial to ensure a coordinated approach.
  • Devise a robust internal communications strategy that engages employees and support their understanding of the organisation’s strategies, objectives, values and direction, utilising a range of communications platforms/ channels.
  • Position Astellas as a progressive health partner and demonstrate the value we deliver to patients, healthcare systems and society through effective external communications tactics
  • Represent the Company externally and support the company in contacts with industry, government bodies, customers and the general public in order to maintain a positive view of the company and its products.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Proven experience in corporate communications, commercial or public relations, ideally with a Multinational Pharmaceutical Corporation in a similar role with regional responsibility.
  • Track record of leading planning process with excellent organisational and collaboration skills to execute successfully.
  • Proven ability to influence, (appropriately) challenge and engage diverse senior stakeholders.
  • A hands-on individual, who brings a sound balance of developing communication strategy and planning and leading the implementation thereafter.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English and Turkish

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong collaborative skills: able to work cross-functionally and operate within a matrix set up.
  • Coaching and collaboration skills to interact with all levels of personnel to achieve shared goals.

Educations/Qualifications:

  • Graduate or equivalent professional qualification

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position
  • The position is based at the T-MEA regional headquarters of Astellas Pharma in Istanbul.
  • Residency in Istanbul is required
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 3 days in our Istanbul office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
