Raytheon’s Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) program is looking for a Lead Radar Systems Engineer to support AN/TPY-2 radars, running engineering tests to troubleshoot radar system anomalies (e.g., REX, BSG, Antenna / Sub-Array / TRIMMs).

You will provide weekly reports on the status of engineering activities and maintaining a radar performance notebook with such data as El Ops runs, satellite tracks, IMU measurements, and radar calibration as required. Notebook entries will be forwarded to the Missile Defense Center (MDC) in Woburn, MA for performance monitoring and data analysis and regression testing.

This Unaccompanied OCONUS Onsite position will be in Turkey for a long-term assignment with additional compensation.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical support for the site radar systems issues and troubleshooting efforts as needed or instructed by site key team members.
  • Manage difficult and often complex issues regularly.
  • Manage moderately sized projects and processes.
  • Guide, review, and delegate work to onsite team members.
  • Influence internal team regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Establish RF Hazard / Keep-Out Zones (KOZs); as well as development and implementation of site-unique radiation procedures.
  • Comply with all quality assurance and Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS) reporting requirements associated with providing accurate and complete data in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the health and status of the radar as well as running the radar missions.
  • Oversee the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation through closure and run regression testing as needed.
  • Plan and implement mission tests and develop new mission profiles by deliberative planning loaded into the radar and validated.
  • Engineering support for Configuration Management (CM) for hardware and software.
  • Establish data collection / reduction / analysis requirements and procedures for the Radar system.
  • Assist in the establishment of RF Hazard / Keep-Out Zones (KOZs).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of site-unique radiation procedures.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and technical content of the FBX-T System Operator’s Manual TM FBX-T-10-1 operating instructions, procedures, and work packages, and suggest modifications as appropriate.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and technical content of the radar set-up and test plan, and the radar environment, health and safety plan, recommending modifications as appropriate.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of the existing radar system planned maintenance program.
  • Comply with all quality assurance and Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS) reporting requirements associated with providing accurate and complete data in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the end user on the health and status of radar and coordinate requests for calibration and maintenance time as needed.

Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ Certification or obtain certification within 60 days.
  • Experience managing moderately size projects and processes.
  • Experience with coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to team members.
  • Experience working with advanced radar systems with UNIX and/or MATLAB.
  • Experience with software / systems integration planning and implementation.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Advanced STEM degree.
  • Experience with DoD or Missile Defense Programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent multitasking skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office and UNIX applications.
  • Current passport.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
