The Opportunity:

This Therapy Area Lead, Oncology opportunity is located in Istanbul, Türkiye within the Medical Department. The team consists of the Medical Affairs Head, 6 Medical Managers, and the Department Assistant. In this position, as a pivotal team member, you’ll lead the implementation of medical strategy in designated therapeutic areas at Astellas, ensuring alignment with global plans and local needs. With a deep understanding of the therapeutic landscape, you’ll engage external stakeholders, collaborate internally for study execution, and work closely with commercial teams. Your role extends to partnering with HEOR and Market Access, contributing to local access strategies, planning HEOR projects, and providing medical education. Compliance with policies and regulations is paramount as you execute field medical activities by engaging key external experts.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the implementation of medical strategy in designated therapeutic areas, fostering partnerships and ensuring alignment with global plans and local needs.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the therapeutic area, engage with external stakeholders, and contribute to the advancement of Astellas products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for study execution, regulatory affairs, and post-approval studies. Work closely with commercial teams to align in promotional activities.
  • Partner with HEOR and Market Access for local access strategies, plan HEOR projects, and provide medical education. Develop non-promotional materials for fair and balanced communication.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Execute field medical activities by engaging with key external experts aligned with therapeutic area strategies.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Solid Medical Affairs experience.
  • Fully fluent in written and verbal business Turkish & English.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Oncology area-related experience.

Education:

  • Medical school graduate or equivalent.

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • The position is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
  • 20-30% of travel, including overnight travel is involved.
  • This position follows a hybrid working model, requiring a blend of working from home and the office. In line with the role requirements, approximately 50% of field visits and activities are expected. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
