Operations Manager – Turkey, Uber Rides

About the Role

This is an exciting role that will bring Uber experience to more locations. The role will be part of our Turkey operations team primarily responsible for driving the growth of high-potential cities to expand our footprint across Türkiye with our Taxi product. This is an exciting role that will bring Uber experience to more locations and the role will require frequent travel to high-potential cities.

The Operations Manager will need a combination of strong problem solving, data analytics and communication skills. The role will craft and evolve our strategy, own the execution of the roadmap, coordinate multiple internal functional teams to achieve growth targets and implement quality standards. It will require end-to-end management of the rider and driver experience and will require collaboration with all functions to drive further growth of Taxi product in Turkey.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Manage the growth of our taxi product and work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders, Product, CommOps, Legal, Comms, Tax to test, implement and roll-out products and changes in the marketplace
  • Lead the team to use analytical tools, market intelligence and data to investigate, solve and remediate multi-faceted business problems. You will need to be comfortable with complex data sets, providing insights and fact-checking against the real market situation
  • Manage multifaceted market intelligence reports, quality control processes, and economic trends
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data from the platform and operational insights to identify, surface, execute and follow-through on new processes or optimize existing processes to adaptively keep the marketplace as balanced, reliable and efficient as possible
  • Build processes that enable the business to efficiently scale across cities
  • Look beyond the obvious metrics and identify how we can optimize rider and driver experience on the platform

What the Candidate Will Need

  • Basic Qualifications —-
  • A minimum of 7 years management consulting, banking, analytics, operations, project management, or start-up experience
  • A degree from a top local or international university
  • Position is based preferably either in Ankara or Istanbul, hybrid remote working
  • Be comfortable with frequent travel to high-potential cities
  • Strong local partnership and stakeholder management skills to originate, develop and execute new projects
  • Outstanding negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgments
  • A proven ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience in handling big data sets; SQL and Python is a big plus
  • Fluency in English and Turkish
  • Preferred Qualifications —-
  • Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment and implement quickly
