The Maintenance & Inventory Planner makes an impact by-

  • Manage the parts inventory and parts master file in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS database.
  • Coordinate work requests between all Turkey Hill departments and Maintenance.
  • Responsible for issuing work requests to Plant and Facilities Maintenance and tracking all time and parts associated with the work request.
  • Maintain item cross-references and correct unit of measure.
  • Maintain the asset management system.
  • In conjunction with the Plant and Facility Maintenance Supervisor, develop the Plant Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Ensure that actual on-hand quantity balance of stocked materials equal on-line system balance and are maintained at the correct levels to prevent stock-outs.
  • Conduct accurate cycle counts and physical inventories, as required.
  • Ensure the proper and accurate processing of repair items.
  • Responsible for the timely resolution of all receipt’s discrepancies and the process of returns of incorrect, damaged or defective material to supplies.
  • Stay current with the general body of knowledge concerning Computerized Maintenance Management and Asset Management Systems.
  • Review sign-out sheet and record all information daily into the CMMS database.
  • Purchase maintenance parts electronically as needed.
  • Coordinate parts inventory procurement and replenishment. Ensure competitive costing practices are followed.
  • Partner with Plant and Facility Maintenance Supervisors to develop estimate cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total cost.
  • Review the actual labor and materials expended versus the estimate. Make adjustments to the estimates as needed.
  • Available to work overtime and weekends to meet manufacturing demands.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required).
  • The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours.
  • The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
  • Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
  • The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
  • Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
