Job Description

As an AWS platform engineer here in MUFG, your primary responsibility is to design, deploy, and maintain the cloud infrastructure on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. Your role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of the company’s cloud-based applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions based on the company’s requirements and best practices.
2. Setting up and configuring virtual servers, containers, and serverless functions on AWS.
3. Managing and optimizing AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
4. Implementing and maintaining network and security configurations to safeguard sensitive financial data.
5. Monitoring and analyzing the performance of AWS resources, identifying and resolving any issues proactively.
6. Automating deployment processes using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
7. Collaborate with developers and enterprise architects to build solutions on a cloud platform to host brown and green field applications.
8. Analyze, debug and resolve production issues related to infrastructure, application performance, system latency and other IaaS services.
9. Collaborate with Application Devs to build out CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
10. Build and support a platform that developers and ops can consume to deploy CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
11. Ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards in the financial industry.
12. Staying up-to-date with the latest AWS services and features to leverage new technologies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

1. Degree in Computer Science or Similar or equivalent experience
2. Proficiency in AWS services and solutions, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, etc.
3. Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices for building elastic, scalable and high-available solutions.
4. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
5. Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
6. Network and security expertise, including VPC configurations, security groups, and IAM roles.
7. Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating tasks and managing AWS resources.
8. Monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities using AWS CloudWatch or other monitoring tools.
9. Disaster recovery and backup strategies for data protection and business continuity.
10. Experience working with either File-based CI/CD like Jenkins,Travis/CircleCI/etc or UI-based CI/CD like AWS Codepipeline or both like AzureDevOps
11. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical challenges related to AWS infrastructure in the financial services domain.
