What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that’s all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Own user growth objective for the international performance marketing org.
  • Build a roadmap for longer-term goal setting and own day-to-day execution across all channels.
  • Support regional partners by connecting the dots between channels and articulating holistic performance marketing strategies
  • Provide strategic insight on emerging trends and category insights as they impact performance channels.
  • Identify and communicate cross-functional opportunities to improve performance through – creative development, landing page testing, and ad tech improvements.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with our vendor partners.
  • Build and execute comprehensive testing plans focused on unlocking new channels, audiences, or ad formats efficiently.
  • Become a valuable team member across growth marketing, by understanding and communicating the synergies needed with other channels to drive the biggest impact.
  • Partner closely with data team to build reporting capabilities to track and disseminate learnings across teams.
  • Help support evolution of measurement models and evaluate budget allocation across channels to maximise returns.
  • Work together with finance partners to manage performance marketing budget and setting forecasts and tracking.

You’re probably a match if

  • You possess in depth experience directly building and managing a best-in-class performance marketing program with experience across search, social, display, programmatic and mobile. (consulting experience preferred)
  • Strong collaborator who can clearly communicate goals and partner with various internal teams and vendors to help achieve results.
  • A deep understanding of the role that performance marketing plays in a customer journey and how we can maximize our impact across channels/countries.
  • Experience managing a large budget with a track record of expanding channels spent within efficiency guardrails
  • Strong testing mindset, and a passion for uncovering learnings that help us better acquire new customers.
  • Strong communicator who can effectively share out performance strategy and insights across the company to further strengthen growth strategy.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, and to report to a wide range of senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Analyzing data combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate key learnings across the team.
  • A naturally curious, self-starter who is willing to take measured risks.

About the team

Canva is seeking an individual with a dynamic and results-driven approach to join our Performance Marketing team. The ideal candidate should possess experience in developing and leading cross-functional performance marketing programs.

You will be responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and analysis of performance marketing efforts. Your core focus will be on driving both user growth and revenue growth within efficiency thresholds, partnering with search, social, display, mobile, and other channels. In this role, you will work closely with all channel leads and business stakeholders to optimize performance marketing for Canva’s international growth strategy.

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Performance Marketing, you will be responsible for communicating performance marketing strategy and insights across platforms. You should have an in-depth understanding of marketing channels, data analytics, and product analytics, to make optimizations that will drive planned performance outcomes. Collaboration will be key, as you work to foster synergy between HQ and international teams, and cultivate beneficial relationships with our platform and vendor partners.
