The Opportunity

We are looking for a high-calibre and experienced Professional Project Manager with a technical background in engineering or architecture.

As a Senior Project Manager at Arup, you will:

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams on client commissions, shaping socially useful and sustainable outcomes.
  • Build and maintain long-term, trusted advisor relationships with clients.
  • Oversee project delivery, internal coordination, and commercial management of major projects.
  • Support business development activities, including preparing expressions of interest, tenders, and thought leadership contributions.
  • Mentor and develop junior colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous growth.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about project management and delivering sustainable outcomes for clients. We also value:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture.
  • Project management qualifications, such as a Master’s degree, PMP, etc.
  • Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
  • A well-rounded background in commercial and project management roles in the built environment across the typical project lifecycle.
  • Client-facing skills, including communication, negotiation and influencing.
  • Proven experience working closely with design teams to develop and deliver design solutions that meet the client’s brief.
  • Experience in drafting and administering design and construction contracts.
  • Leadership and team management skills, including coaching, conflict resolution, setting clear goals, and driving successful delivery.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Potential candidates will be required to undertake an English language test from the company’s test provider.
