Program Summary

KBR will sustain the operational well-being of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base (Spain), Incirlik Air Base, Izmir Air Station, and various facilities in Turkey. Our services encompass program management, civil engineering, morale and recreation support, postal operations, safety services, logistics, and more. With a five-year base period and three one-year options, KBR ensures these bases operate smoothly, allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a qualified mechanical technician to join our team, with a specific focus on expertise in HVAC and electrical systems. The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of split packs, air handling units, rooftop units, heat pumps, and other refrigeration and cooling systems assigned to Cigli AB Turaf. This involves monitoring, management, and maintenance analysis, preventative maintenance, accountability and inventory, inspections, and scheduling of the equipment, which are recorded in the mission RPIE inventory file. The role is coupled with hands-on engagement, requiring a strong understanding of HVAC mechanics for the effective execution of special inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely preventive maintenance of HVAC systems. Plan and execute routine checks to prevent unexpected breakdowns and conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, split packs, heat pumps, and associated equipment by “date due” intervals in accordance with manufacturer maintenance requirements.
  • Handle emergency repair situations promptly and effectively.
  • Replace or repair defective components to ensure optimal system performance. Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in heating ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Repair or replace faulty components, including compressors, coils, valves, sensors, filters, and control systems and install new parts and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
  • Identify issues with components such as compressors, motors, fans, and thermostats.
  • Utilize a variety of diagnostic tools, including pressure gauges, voltage meters, and thermometers, to assess system performance accurately. Proficiency in conducting tests and troubleshooting using analog and digital test equipment is essential.
  • Assist the technical team to perform Back-up Generator`s periodic maintenance services.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to address complex issues. Foster a collaborative environment for the successful completion of construction and renovation projects. Assist in metal and “U” and “C” profile processing activities, including electric arc welding, related to HVAC systems and infrastructure.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while performing repairs and maintenance. Follow OSHA regulations and other safety standards to create a secure working environment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations during construction and improvement projects. Prioritize the safety of oneself and the team while executing tasks. Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Proactively identify potential safety hazards and take corrective measures to mitigate risks.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements performed on HVAC systems. Document equipment specifications, serial numbers, and warranty information.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematic wiring diagram using a laptop computer.
  • Maintaining the outdoor areas of the base, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, planting flowers, and ensuring proper drainage.
  • Performing routine repairs and upkeep tasks such as painting, patching walls, replacing light fixtures, and fixing plumbing or electrical issues.
  • Cleaning and janitorial work: Keeping buildings and facilities clean and sanitary by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • General labor support: Assisting skilled tradespeople such as electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and carpenters by carrying materials, fetching tools, and performing other tasks as needed.
  • Operating machinery such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and landscaping equipment for tasks like moving materials, lifting heavy objects, and performing outdoor maintenance.
  • Demolition and construction support: Assisting with demolition projects, clearing debris, and preparing sites for new construction or renovations.
  • Adapt to changing environmental conditions and adjust HVAC systems accordingly and stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in HVAC systems. Attend training sessions or workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintain a commitment to a safe working environment for yourself and others. Proactively identify potential safety hazards and take corrective measures to mitigate risks.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a Turkish citizen.
  • Capable to speak, read and understand the English Language at a minimum Level.
  • Must have a valid Turkish B Class license to operate vehicles and equipment.
  • 3 + years of experience in HVAC and construction
  • Current and favorable Turkish security background check
  • Technical High School graduate
  • For Male Candidates, Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation is required.
  • Obtaining and passing a medical physical and certified by Government Hospital is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year HVAC College degree (Iklimlendirme/Sogutma Yuksekokulu)
  • Forklift Operator License
  • Electrician Certificate
