Program Summary
KBR will help sustain the well-being of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain, as well as Incirlik Air Base, Izmir Air Station, Office of Defense Cooperation –Turkey and the Ankara Support Facility also in Turkey. The company will keep these bases and facilities operating smoothly so deployed Air Force and government personnel can execute their missions without distraction.
KBR’s work will include program management; civil engineering; morale, welfare and recreation support; postal operations; and safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene and ambulance services. It will also provide logistics support, such as vehicle management, fuel operations and air terminal services. KBR received this contract – which has a five-year base period and three one-year options—from the Air Force Installation Contracting Center.
Job Summary
Completes tasks with vehicle assigned in a timely and safe manner. Ensures vehicle is maintained in a serviceable and clean condition. Conducts vehicle inspections and washes vehicles. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs operator inspections, using the proper inspection guide forms and performs operator maintenance on all vehicles assigned to ensure the vehicles are safe to drive. Deliver and retrieve vehicles from vehicle maintenance. Operates, washes, waxes, services, and cleans several types of motor vehicles.
- Must ensure vehicle is inspected in accordance with policies and procedures; is in operational condition, checking condition of a vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fluid, water, and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order. In case of accidents and/or any found discrepancies, operator must report incident/findings in a timely manner to appropriate authorities (dispatch/Supervisor).
- Vehicle operators must be flexible to work different shifts as needed; transport personnel, cargo, and equipment on and off base as required. Individual may have to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY), to various sites/cities throughout Turkey, for undetermined lengths of time (3-5 days), to perform similar duties.
- Must be able to speak and understand English; comprehend/assist and reply to customer/passenger questions.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service.
- Communicate with dispatchers by radio, telephone, or computer to exchange information and receive requests for passenger service.
- Must be capable of performing general custodial duties within Vehicle Operations and control equipment.
- Cleans the Vehicle Management compound, to include cutting grass, ensuring it is free of debris and fluid spills. Provides ground maintenance, performs manual labor and other related tasks as directed.
- Maintain work area appearance and safety.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Drive sedan, pick-up, van (8-15 PAX), bus (28-44), tractor-trailer (25FT – 40FT), Hard Card, etc.
- Dolly, cargo stapes, jacks, wrenches, tire chains, etc.
- Hand-held radio used IAW guidance.
- Maintain forms and records.
- Duties may involve the conduct of work in out-of-doors area with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
- Have attended driving Anti-terrorism course.
- Familiar with evasive training
- Familiar with Anti-Training force protection.
- Work will require lifting up-to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire and Safety Regulations and published company work rules.
Basic Qualifications
- Turkish Citizenship
- Must have a valid passport or be able to obtain one.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand the English Language at a minimum level 3.
- Must have a valid Turkish professional driver’s license and skill to operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner. Ideally will possess a Valid Turkish Class “E + G + D” driver’s license and have the license to drive a bus and tractor/trailer, forklift, and off-road equipment. Exception is if the “E” was issued prior to 28 April 1997, “E+G” Class license will be valid.
- Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation.
- Capable of obtaining a Turkish security clearance
- High School graduate (must possess diploma).
- Operator shall have a minimum of three years’ experience in driving.
