Program Summary

Job Summary

As an Exterminator, you will play a vital role in implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods within a Military environment to control Insects, Rodents, Feral Animals, and specific vegetation. The role involves applying EPA Registered and DoD Approved products, tracking and transporting feral animals, bird management and addressing various pest-related challenges.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Control and prevent insects/pests infestations with focus on flies, rodents, ants, roaches, bed bugs, mosquitoes, sand flies and other pests.

• Track, trap, and transport feral animals (Dogs, Cats, Foxes etc.) as needed.

• Address snake, bird, other vertebrate wild animals and weed control as required.

• Perform heavy lifting and routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and surroundings for potential infestations to ensure all work locations have an effective Integrated Pest Management plan in place.

• Spray pesticides and herbicides, lay poisonous bait, set mechanical traps, or any other needed treatments to fix pest problems.

• Records all chemicals used and maintain daily records of all chemical applications and inspections.

• Utilize a variety of equipment in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.

• Prepare and submit reports as required by work instructions and other applicable contract requirements, guidelines, and procedures.

• Subject to perform emergency call back work and to perform duties on non-normal duty periods or different shifts.

• Performs duties as laborer, driver, and other duties as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Installation Pest Management Coordinator

• Operate, repair and maintain heavy and light duty sprayer equipment.

• Operate agricultural tractor with sprayer equipment professionally.

• Heavy physical effort is required in the frequent handling/lifting of objects weighing 50 pounds on a regular basis as well as climb, reach, crawl, bend, crouch, and work in tight spaces.

• Successfully complete and pass the DOD Certified Applicators Exam after OJT training within one year period of hire date.

• Ability to wear PPE respirators and successfully pass an annual fit test.

• Work areas will include confined spaces, outdoor environments and heights over 11 meters.

• Works with computers, including MS Office applications

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a minimum High School Diploma.

• Must have a valid Turkey Local National Pesticide Applicator Certificate.

• Must be capable of writing, listening, and reading English at a minimum of level 1.

• Ability to read and understand English chemical labels, SDS and mixing/spraying procedures.

• Must have a valid B-class Driving License.

• Prior experience in the pest control and agricultural works.

• Must be capable of obtaining a Turkish Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Be familiar with a variety of equipment related to the elimination of pests using HSE guidelines.
