Program Summary

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing maintenance on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks etc. The Vehicle Mechanic will ensure that all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key responsibilities include inspecting vehicle systems, identifying mechanical issues, and using advanced diagnostic tools to facilitate repairs, keeping and following the necessary documents in accordance with Air Force Instruction (AFI) regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations to create a secure working environment identifying and addressing potential hazards proactively.
  • Participate in safety training programs and consistently apply acquired knowledge in day-to-day operations.
  • Proactively identify potential safety hazards and take corrective measures to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with the QC team to address any identified issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to meet the required standards and ensure compliance with relevant certifications.
  • Capable of performing lifting and similar physical tasks required for lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading up to 25kg/55 lbs.
  • Perform simple tasks using a computer and Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Work in a team setting as well as independently when required.
  • Determine the serviceability of vehicle systems, assemblies or subassemblies, and the need for repair.
  • Analyze malfunctions by visual and auditory examination or by use of test equipment. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
  • Repair, adjust, overhaul, or replace major assemblies or subassemblies such as engine; mechanical, electrical, air-conditioning, fuel, emission, power train, brake, steering and suspension systems. Repair and diagnosis of – with some assistance: engines (gas and diesel), power trains to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO’s and wheel ends, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, electronics to include ECM’s, ECU’s, sensors etc., engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., brake systems including ABS, suspension systems (spring and air).
  • Test, recondition and replace faulty alternators, generators, starter motors and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries. Repair or replace faulty ignition, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches.
  • Adhere to all established safety policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units, warrantable repairs, and document on repair work order.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on vehicles and vehicular equipment, including but not limited to oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, fluid checks, and other mechanical repairs as necessary.
  • Do all maintenance and repair tasks, including routine maintenance, warranty work, contracted repairs, and authorized repairs.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and special inspections on relevant forms, including AF Form 4355, 4354, Preventative Maintenance (PMI), Vehicle Condition Inspections, and Special Inspections.
  • Monitor and track scheduled inspections to ensure assigned vehicles are maintained in a serviceable and clean condition.
  • Oversee the completion of inspection forms (AF Form 4355, Vehicle Incoming Inspection, Limited Technical Inspections (LTI’s) et.) each time a vehicle is processed into vehicle management via work order, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ensure vehicles are made available for PMI and special inspections, assisting USAF with inspections as needed.
  • Provides technical support to procurement personnel when necessary, during the parts procurement process.
  • Maintain records of various forms and documents related to vehicle control, inspections, maintenance, and repairs, including, AF Form 1800.
  • Collaborate effectively with other mechanics, team members, and other departments to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
  • Willingness to work flexible/long hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed under various weather constraints.
  • Duties and responsibilities may evolve, and change based on the needs of the project and the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a Turkish citizen.
  • Read, speak, write, understand English level I.
  • Must have a valid Turkish professional driver’s license (Minimum “B” Class)
  • Technical/High School graduate/two-year University Graduate (must possess diploma)
  • For Male Candidates, Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation.
  • Experience working as a vehicle mechanic at least 5 years.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electric work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Read, speak, write, understand English level II.
  • Familiar with English terminology of parts, tools and equipment.

All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.

All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.

All male candidates must have completed their military service.
