Program Summary
KBR will help sustain the well-being of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain, as well as Incirlik Air Base, Izmir Air Station, Office of Defense Cooperation –Turkey and the Ankara Support Facility also in Turkey. The company will keep these bases and facilities operating smoothly so deployed Air Force and government personnel can execute their missions without distraction.
KBR’s work will include program management; civil engineering; morale, welfare and recreation support; postal operations; and safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene and ambulance services. It will also provide logistics support, such as vehicle management, fuel operations and air terminal services. KBR received this contract – which has a five-year base period and three one-year options—from the Air Force Installation Contracting Center.
Job Summary
Determine the serviceability, analyze malfunctions, and repair vehicle systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Determine the serviceability of vehicle systems, assemblies or subassemblies, and the need for repair.
- Analyze malfunctions by visual and auditory examination or through the use of test equipment. Repair, adjust, overhaul, or replace major assemblies or subassemblies such as engine; mechanical, electrical, air-conditioning, fuel, emission, power train, brake, steering and suspension systems.
- Remove and disassemble gasoline or diesel engines and components.
- Repair components by replacing worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned parts.
- Reassemble, adjust, and test repaired units for proper operation.
- Perform preventive and special maintenance.
- Use technical publications to maintain vehicles to prescribed manufactures’ maintenance schedules.
- Perform special inspections and maintenance on vehicles requiring corrosion control, storage, shipment, and winterization.
- Properly annotates all maintenance performed on prescribed forms for data collection purposes.
- Adhere to all established safety policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
- Repair and diagnosis of – with some assistance: engines (gas and diesel), power trains to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO’s and wheel ends, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, electronics to include ECM’s, ECU’s, sensors etc., engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., brake systems including ABS, suspension systems (spring and air)
- Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units, warrantable repairs and document on repair work order.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
- Safety, proper use of tools and test equipment, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis, publications use.
- Maintain work area appearance and safety.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
- Turkish Citizenship
- High School Graduate
- Capable to speak, read, write, and understand English Language “Minimum Level II”
- Have a current driver’s license (minimum “B” Class)
- Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation.
- Capable of obtaining a Turkish security clearance
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical work; (possession of a “bonservis” verification of employment).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 year University Graduate (must possess diploma)
- Additional training or certification in relevant area.
